Kolkata  Knight Riders knock defending champions Rajasthan Royals out of IPL season 2 after winning against them by four wickets. Laxmi Ratan Shukla hit an unbeaten 48 as Kolkata Knight Riders beat defending champions Rajasthan Royals by 4 wickets. This was a must win match for Rajasthan Royals to take semi-final birth but their poor batting performance made them to bow out of the IPL 2 by having only 13 points in the league.

Kolkata Knight Riders have won the toss and elected to field first and they included  CK Langeveldt for this match and he took three crucial wickets by giving just 15 runs in four overs. Rajasthan Royals were able to score 101 runs in 20 overs by loosing nine wicktes. Kolkata Knight Riders start was not well they were able score 38 runs in first 10 overs by loosing five wickets but Shukla came back well under pressure and hit 48 runs from 46 balls which made Knight Riders to win the match.
