Mashrafe Mortaza a new Captain for Bangladesh

Bangladesh has named Mashrafe Mortaza as a new Captain for the forthcoming tours of West Indies and Zimbabwe. Mashrafe Mortaza is going to replace current captain Mohammad Ashraful who has been asked to concentrate on his batting from the Bangladesh Cricket Board. And the All-Rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been named the vice-captain.

Bangladesh have failed to qualify the super eight stage in ICC T20 world cup and they have lost the game against Ireland under the captaincy Mohammad Ashraful. In 38 ODI’s under Mahammad Ashraful capataincy Bangladesh have managed to win only 8 games but the significant victories were against Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

Mashrafe Mortaza captaincy will be tested from July 3 as the tour of West Indies begins on July 3 with a three-day match against West Indies A. The team will play two Tests, three ODIs and a Twenty20.
