New Zealand 198 for 5 (Redmond 63, Guptill 45*, Styris 42) beat Ireland 115 (Nathan McCullum 3-15) by 83 runs.

New Zealand wins the match against Ireland by 83 runs in ICC T20 at Trent Bridge. New Zealand which is suffering from injuries forced to call up Aaron Redmond to their World Twenty20 squad. But injuries did not affected anything to New Zealand as they registered a big win against Ireland in the first of the ICC World Twenty20 Super Eights matches.

Aaron Redmond, who replaced Jess Ryder scored a terrific 63 off just 30 balls. Aaron Redmond half century and cameos from Scott Styris(42) and Martin Guptill(45) ensured that a weakened New Zealand to put big total of 198 runs in 20 overs by loosing 5 wickets. Ireland were always unlikely to threaten that, and went down by 83 runs with 20 balls left at Trent Bridge.They made just 115, Brendon McCullum starring with two run-outs and a catch. Ireland were not able to take the advantage of New Zealand’s injury list(Jesse Ryder, Ross Taylor, Daniel Vettori).
