Roger Federer wins French Open 2009 | French Open Final Highlights

Roger Federer defeated Robin Soderling of Sweden 6-1, 7-6 (7/1), 6-4 in the final to win the French Open for the first time in his carrier. French Open 2009 win was his 14th Grand Slam win which equaled the all-time record held by American Pete Sampras. There was no tough competition for him as he won the title in the straight sets against Robin Soderling.
Roger Federer World No 2 became the sixth person to won each of the four Grand Slam tournaments. Robin Soderling of Sweden who defeated Nadal and became a shock finalist for French Open was not able to dominate Roger Federer in any of the sets. Roger Federer, 27 claimed his first Roland Garros title, stormed through the set in 23 minutes after benefiting from his 23rd-seeded opponent’s unforced errors.
Roger Federer will now turn his attention to grass-court season and Wimbledon, where he is bidding for a sixth title.

Federer played brilliantly and won the French open, the only championship he had not won. He equaled the record of Pete Sampras and I am sure he will go ahead and break his record as Wimbledon is about to begin.

Yes Federer finally did it. He won French Open now we can safely say that he is the greatest player of all time. Some says it would have been different if Nadal was in final but I don’t think so, Nadal wasn’t playing as good as federer. FedEx defeated him easily in Madrid and would have done the same in Paris.
