Spain wins the match against Iraq in FIFA confederation cup with 1-0 goal. Spain are through to the semi-finals of the FIFA Confederations Cup South Africa 2009. Spain were dominant throughout but were hampered by some poor finishing. The Asian champions made life difficult for their European counterparts from their super performance in the match, they allowed only one goal for Spain.

The second half goal from David Villa gave Spain a deserved victory against Iraq, David Villa’s first-half header made Spain to book a spot in the FIFA confederation cup Semi-finals. The goal saw him become Spain’s second highest scorer behind Real Madrid legend Raul. It meant that a 14th successive win saw them equal the world record for consecutive victories.
