Roger Federer defeated Andy Roddick with 5-7 7-6 (8-6) 7-6 (7-5) 3-6 16-14 in the Finals of Wimbledon 2009. Roger Federer defeated Andy Roddick to surpass Sampras’s 14 Grand Slam wins and sixth Wimbledon title that he lost to Rafael Nadal last year. No Tears from Federer this time who made history in the Grand Slam by winning 15 major titles.

It was superb and Fantastic match here at Wimbledon which took four hours and fifteen minutes to decide the winner of  Wimbledon 2009. Federer will regain his top spot in the world rankings ahead of Nadal after winning Wimbledon 2009 title. Andy Roddick had a great chance of winning the finals of Wimbledon 2009 he made his move at 8-8, firing a spectacular backhand winner down the line for 15-40, but five-time champion Federer responded magnificently with a service winner and a nerveless drive-volley.

Federer, who claimed a first French Open title last month, has now won Wimbledon six times, the US Open five times, the Australian Open three times and Roland Garros once.
