Real Madrid have agreed a deal to sign striker Karim Benzema from Lyon. Karim Benzema is all set to join Real Madrid for a minimum of €35m (£30m), which could rise to €41m (£35.2m), after the two clubs reached agreement over the striker. Karim Benzema the 21-year-old from France international has reached an agreement to join Real Madrid from Lyon. But he had also been linked with Manchester United but now looks set for a switch to the Bernabeu.

Karim Benzema become the fourth international player to join newly to Real Madrid after Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka as well as defender Raul Albiol for a combined £148m. Former France and Real Madrid great Zinedine Zidane, who is now a senior advisor at the Spanish club, is believed to have recommended Benzema to Real Madrid. Benzema, 21, developed at Lyon and helped them win four Ligue 1 titles. He has won 24 caps for France, scoring six goals.
