Sri Lanka 289 for 4 (Jayawardene 123, Tharanga 76) beat Pakistan 288 for 8 (Umar Akmal 66, Kamran Akmal 45) by six wickets

Sri Lanka wins the match against Pakistan by six wickets in 3rd ODI at Dambulla. Sri Lanka won the five match ODI series against Pakistan by 3-0 with still two matches to go. The series win against Pakistan was the first ever series win in home for Sri Lanka. After winning the test series, Sri Lanka have won the ODI series also and this will be dream start for Kumar Sangakkara as Captain for Sri Lanka.

Earlier Sri Lanka had won the toss and elected to field first. The tourists made 288-8 in their 50 overs, including 66 from Umar Akmal, brother of wicket-keeper Kamran. Jayawardene’s(123) belligerent ton helped Sri Lanka to win first ODI series against Pakistan in home. Jayawardene added 202 for the opening wicket with Upul Tharanga and though Sri Lanka lost three quick wickets, Kumar Sangakkara played an assured knock to guide them to victory and take an unassailable 3-0 lead.
