Sri Lanka 229 (Mahela 47, Sangakkara 44, Sreesanth 5-75) and 57 for 4 (Samaraweera 1*, Mathews 2*) trail India 642 (Gambhir 167, Dravid 144, Sehwag 137, Herath 5-121) by 356 runs

Sri Lanka finished their first innings on Day 3 by scoring 229 runs in the Jaypee Cup against India on Thursday. India bowled very well againt Sri Lanka to restrict them for 229 runs. Sreesanth bolwed well for India by taking five wickets in the first innings and also one wicket in the second innings. Sri Lanka were forced to follow on after Tea where they are still 356 runs behind the target set by India.

Sri Lanka have already lost their four important wickets in the 2nd innings, so India is heading towards 2nd Test win in Kanpur against Sri Lanka. Fast bowler Sreesanth , playing his first Test in 19 months, took 5-75 in the first innings Spinners Harbhajan Singh and debutant Pragyan Ojha took two wickets each, helping to end Sri Lanka’s first innings just after tea.
