Australia 3 for 111 (Watson 64*, Aamer 2-43) and 5 for 454 dec lead Pakistan 258 (Misbah 65*, Umar 51, Johnson 3-36) by 307 runs

Pakistan finished their first innings on Day 3 of first test against Australia by scoring 258 runs. Umar Akmal(51) and Misbah-ul-Haq (65*) batted well for Pakistan in the first test. Johnson and Bollinger bowled well for Australia by taking three wickets each. Misbah brought up his half century – which included a huge six off spinner Nathan Hauritz. Umar proved a one-man highlight reel in the first hour of play, showing little regard for the Australian bowlers or the reverse-swinging ball.

Australians have started their 2nd innings on the day 3 and they finished the 3rd day by scoring 111 runs for the loss of three wickets. Shane Watson notched his second half century as Australia extended their lead to 307 on day three of the first Test against Pakistan in Melbourne. Aamer returned with the new ball to dismiss Ricky Ponting and Michael Hussey in the final session.
