South Africa 262 for 4 (Kallis 112*, Duminy 38*) v England

South Africa finished the day 1 of 1st Test by scoring 262 runs for the loss of four wickets against England at Centurion. It was a superb come back from the South Africa after loosing two quick wickets for just 51 runs. South African skipper Smith got out without scoring runs in the 1st Test against England. Jacques Kallis who is playing after a long gap hit a terrific unbeaten 112 runs and his unbroken stand of 103 with JP Duminy (38) gave the hosts the edge.

England which had won the toss elected to field first in the 1st Test against South Africa. Graeme Swann bowled well for England by taking 2 wickets, but Broad bowled too short, while Anderson simply lacked consistency. Kallis scored his 32nd Test Century and dominated the Day 1 with his bat. South Africa needs win at 1st Test as they have lost the ODI series against England.
