Result Day 1:
Sri Lanka 366 for 8 (Dilshan 109, Mathews 86*, Paranavitana 53, Harbhajan 4-107) v India

Sri Lanka finished the first day by scoring 366 runs for the loss 0f 8 wickets against India in 3rd Test. A brilliant hundred from Tillakaratne Dilshan helped Sri Lanka to score a big total of 366 runs against India in 3rd Test. This will be a huge set back for India which is looking for a Test series win and No.1 spot in ICC test ranking, now India needs to bat well in the 1st innings by scoring big total when  they resume batting tomorrow.

Dilshan(109) and Paranavitana(53) joined together for first wicket partnership of 93 runs in just 20 overs, but were pegged back as India got three middle-order wickets in the afternoon. Harbhajan Singh bowled well for India by taking four important wickets on Day 1. Hero 2nd Test Sreesanth could not able bowl well in the 3rd test, he was able to take only one wicket on Day 1 of 3rd Test.
