Result Day 2:
India 443 for 1 (Sehwag 284*, Vijay 87, Dravid 62*) lead Sri Lanka 393 (Dilshan 109, Mathews 99, Paranavitana 53, Harbhajan 4-112) by 50 runs

India finished the day 2 by scoring 443 runs for the loss of one wicket, while Sri Lanka finished their first innings by scoring 393 runs by loosing all the wickets. Day 2 of 3rd Test was entirely belongs to India as they made Sri Lanka to finish their innings and scoring a huge total in a quick time. It was superb batting from Sehwag helped India to score huge total at the run-rate of 5.60.

Virender Sehwag’s astonishing unbeaten 284 from 239 balls which includes 7 sixes and 40 fours was the second fastest double ton in Test history, and the fastest 250. But he remains on course to be the first man ever to hit three triple centuries in Test cricket. Vijay, playing his second Test because of Gautam Gambhir’s absence scored 87 runs, Rahul Dravid(62*), far too good a batsman not to cash in against a demoralised bowling attack.
