Obama’s Nobel Speech Video, Obama accepts Nobel Peace Prize, Speech Video

Barack Obama, The US President has accepted the 2009 Nobel Peace prize on Thursday December 10 at Oslo, Norway. He defended the US role in Afghanistan, arguing the use of force could bring lasting peace. “I receive this honor with deep gratitude and great humility,” Obama said in an elaborate ceremony enshrining him as a Nobel laureate here. “Our actions matter, and can bend history in the direction of justice,” Obama said at the Oslo City Hall.

He said the US “must remain a standard bearer in the conduct of war” to differentiate it from “a vicious adversary that abides by no rules”. He paid tribute to anti-government demonstrators in Iran, Burma and Zimbabwe, and said the US would always stand on the side of those who sought freedom.
