Australia 8 for 519 dec and 1 for 59 lead Pakistan 301 (Butt 102, Malik 58, Katich 3-34, Hauritz 3-96) by 277 runs

Pakistan finished their 1st innings on Day 3 by scoring 301 runs in the 3rd Test against Australia. A brilliant batting from Salman Butt(102) who scored his 3rd Test century helped Pakistan to score 301 runs in the 3rd Test and he was supported by Malik who scored 58 runs. But surprisingly Aussie skipper Ricky Ponting selected to bat again even though they have chance of enforcing the follow-on for Pakistan after having the lead of 208 runs.

Australia who have started their 2nd innings on Day 3 finished  the day by scoring 59 runs for the loss of one wicket with Simon Katich on 33 and Ponting on 25 after Shane Watson departed in the second over for 1. Aamer took the only wicket of Aussie on Day 3, with still two more days go Australians have a better chance of winning the 3rd Test also and also they have already won the first 2 Tests.
