Result Day – 4:
Pakistan 301 and 4 for 103 need another 335 runs to beat Australia 8 for 519 dec and 5 for 219 dec (Katich 100, Ponting 89)

Australia have declared their second innings on Day 4 by scoring 219 runs against Pakistan in the 3rd Test. Australia have set the target of 438 runs for Pakistan to win the 3rd Test. Simon Katich scored his first century of the summer and Ricky Ponting scored 89 runs to help Aussie to score 219 runs in the 2nd innings against Pakistan. Shoaib Malik took two wickets for Pakistan in the 2nd innings of 3rd Test.

Pakistan have started their 2nd innings on Day 4 and they have ended the 4th Day by scoring 103 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Australia needs six more wickets to defeat Pakistan in the 3rd Test also and Pakistan needs another 335 runs for 3rd Test win. Watson took two wickets of Pakistan for Australia and now Pakistan depends of Shoaib Malik who is batting at 18 runs. Yousuf and Akmal both fell lbw to Shane Watson, both had their decisions reviewed, and neither finished with the result he desired.
