Manchester City wins the Barclay’s Premier League match against Portsmouth with 2-0 goals on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at City of Manchester Stadium. Man City which  had lost the last match against Everton by 2-0 goals came well on Sunday to defeat Portsmouth by 2-0 goals. Manchester City moved to sixth place in the league table having a equal points with Liverpool who are at 5th place, but Man City have two more matches in hand.

Adebayor scored first goal of the match at 40th minute for Man City against Portsmouth. Kompany scored the second goal for Man City during first half extra time and helped Man City to secure three points in Premier League. Manchester City closed down the gap on fourth-placed Tottenham following a win over Portsmouth, whose problems on and off the field continue to mount.
