India have finished the day 2 by scoring 459 runs for the loss of five wickets in the 2nd Test against Bangladesh. India tightened their grip on the second Test against Bangladesh by taking the lead of 226 runs and still three more days to go. Sachin Tendulkar became the star of the day 2 by scoring his 45th Test Century before he got out for 143 runs in the 1st innings of 2nd Test.

Rahul Dravid also scored century on Day 2 but he had to retire hurt on 111 after being struck on the helmet by a bouncer from paceman Shahadat Hossain. Their century partnership was their 17th, a new Test record, and India ended play on 459-5, a lead of 226. After Sachin and Dravid, India lost two more wickets M Vijay who replaced Laxman in the 2nd Test was able to score only 30 runs and Harbhajan got out by scoring 13 runs.
