South Africa defeated India in the 1st Test of Jaypee Cup on Day 4 by an innings and 6 runs at Nagpur. South Africa leads the 2 Test match series with 1-0 after defeating India in the 1st Test. South Africa had a good chances of getting back their 1st spot in the ICC test rankings if they drew the 2nd Test match against India. The only good thing for India on Day 4 was Sachin Tendulkar scored his 46th Test century in the 1st Test.

India which had resume the Day 4 on 62 for 2 was able to score 319 runs in the 2nd innings of 1st Test against South Africa. It was also only India’s third innings loss at home in 25 years and also it was first test defeat under Dhoni Captaincy. Now India needs to win the 2nd Test against South Africa to retain their top position in the ICC Test rankings. Dale Steyn achieved match figures of 10-108 as South Africa beat India by an innings and 6 runs.
