Kolkata Knight Riders wins the Indian Premier League match against Kings X1 Punjab on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Mohali. Kolkata secured a much needed win on Saturday as they have lost three successive matches after winning the first 2 matches. A brilliant batting from skipper Sourav Ganguly(50) and Manoj Tiwary(75) helped Kolkata to defeat Punjab in the IPL season 3.

Kolkata which had won the toss elected to bat first and they set a target of 184 runs by loosing five wickets. In reply Punjab was able to score 144 runs by loosing six wickets in 20 overs. Shane Bond bolwed well for Kolkata by taking 2 wickets in four overs and he was supported by Agarkar who took two wickets. It was a mediocre game, especially from Punjab, who were so painfully slow that they fell out of the reckoning very early in the chase.
