Australia wins the 1st Twenty20 match against West Indies by 38 runs on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Hobart. Australia leads the series with 1-0 after defeating West Indies in the 1st T20 match. Australia which had won the toss elected to bat first and they set a target of 179 runs for West Indies to win the 1st T20 match. A brilliant batting from David Warner who scored 49 runs 32 balls helped Aussie to score 179 runs.

In reply West Indies was able to score 141 runs in 20 overs by loosing 8 wickets. Dinesh Ramdin batted well for West Indies by scoring 44 runs and he was supported by Morton who scored 40 runs to reach the score of 141 runs. Nannes and Tait bowled well for Aussie by taking three wickets each. The second and final match of the series takes place in Sydney on Tuesday.

Australia wins the 3rd Test against Pakistan on Day 5 by 231 runs on Monday January 18, 2010 at Hobart. Australia got their 12th consecutive victory over Pakistan after defeating them in the 3rd Test also. Australia won the series with 3-0 and also the have equaled the record of most consecutive victory by a country over other nations. Hauritz bowled well for Australia and finished with 3-3o to help seal the victory from Pakistan.

Pakistan was chasing the target of 438 runs set by Australia, and Malik was the first person to got out on Day 5 for just 19 runs after adding only one to his overnight score. Manzoor bating was impressive as he scored 77 runs from 239 deliveries nut that was not enough to save the game from defeat.

Pakistan 301 and 4 for 103 need another 335 runs to beat Australia 8 for 519 dec and 5 for 219 dec (Katich 100, Ponting 89)

Australia have declared their second innings on Day 4 by scoring 219 runs against Pakistan in the 3rd Test. Australia have set the target of 438 runs for Pakistan to win the 3rd Test. Simon Katich scored his first century of the summer and Ricky Ponting scored 89 runs to help Aussie to score 219 runs in the 2nd innings against Pakistan. Shoaib Malik took two wickets for Pakistan in the 2nd innings of 3rd Test.

Pakistan have started their 2nd innings on Day 4 and they have ended the 4th Day by scoring 103 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Australia needs six more wickets to defeat Pakistan in the 3rd Test also and Pakistan needs another 335 runs for 3rd Test win. Watson took two wickets of Pakistan for Australia and now Pakistan depends of Shoaib Malik who is batting at 18 runs. Yousuf and Akmal both fell lbw to Shane Watson, both had their decisions reviewed, and neither finished with the result he desired.

Pakistan 4 for 94 (Farhat 38) trail Australia 8 for 519 dec (Ponting 209, Clarke 166) by 425 runs

Australia declared their 1st innings on Day 2 by scoring 519 runs for the loss 8 wickets in the 3rd Test against Pakistan. Aussie skipper Ponting scored double century on Day 2 in 3rd Test. Ponting scored 209 runs before he got out to Aamer and Clarke scored 166 runs to help Australia to score 519 runs in the 1st innings of 3rd Test. Danish Kaneria bowled well for Pakistan by taking three wickets.

In reply Pakistan have scored 94 runs on Day 2 by loosing four wickets which includes 2 run-outs also. Pakistan are still 425 runs behind the score made Australia in the 1st innings, now Pakistan has to depend on Shoaib Malik and Salman Butt to score as much as runs in the 1st innings of 3rd Test. But Salman Butt (34 not out) was involved in the dismissals of both captain Mohammad Yousuf (7) and Umar Akmal (8). Pakistan captain Yousuf later branded team-mate Butt as “selfish”.

A brilliant unbeaten centuries between skippper Ponting(137*) and Clarke(111*) helped Australia to score 302 runs on the Day 1. Pakistan bowlers have managed to take three wickets of Australia and Asif was the pick of the bowler for Pakistan on Day 1 of 3rd Test.

The Unbeaten partnership 0f 231 runs between Captain Ponting and Clarke made Australia to fight back in the 3rd Test after looking three wickets for just 71 runs. Clarke needed to show that he could return to his Ashes form and Ponting required a big knock to avoid his least productive home Test summer in a decade. Clarke’s 13th Test ton came with a quick single clipped off his pads from his 188th delivery.

Australia takes on Pakistan in Final and 3rd Test from Thursday January 14 to January 18 at Hobart. Australia have already won the Test series by defeating Pakistan in the first 2 tests and it looking for 3rd Test win also. But Pakistan is looking for a bounce back in the series before ODI series starts from January 22. Pakistan wicket keeper Kamran Akmal has been dropped from the 3rd Test due to his poor performance in the last test.

Australia are far more settled. Such messes they don’t often find themselves in and when they do, they are generally quieter and handle it with greater grace and coherence. Australia, who have won their last 11 Tests against Pakistan, are only expected to make one change to their side, with Simon Katich likely to return after an arm injury.
